Once I've booked, what do I need to bring along on the day I sign the contract?

Please bring along the following when you sign your self storage agreement: Photo ID – One piece of ID with your photograph on it e.g. your passport or photo driving licence. Proof of Address – One piece of ID with confirmation of your address e.g. bank statement or utility bill less than three months old. Future Address – Your future contact address if it differs from that on your ID. Emergency Contact – The name, address and telephone number of an alternative contact in the case of an emergency. (These details must be different from the details given above). Valuation – You will need to declare the full new replacement value of the goods in the storage unit.
Are the self storage units easy to access?

Yes! Our drive-up storage units allow you to park right next to your door, saving on trips back and forth to your car or van. We also have a forklift available for hire for heavy items or pallets.
What about self storage insurance?

Having self storage insurance is a requirement of renting a storage unit in the UK, and, so is one that we require all of our customers to comply with. It is important not to under insure your goods. While you are under no obligation to use our own storage unit insurance, we can arrange self storage insurance starting from as little as £8 per calendar month, dependent on the value of goods being stored. Cover starts at £1,000 and you will need the correct total value for when you move in.

What is the minimum and maximum length of stay?

The minimum that you can store your goods for is 1 week, there is no maximum storage period.

No. All of our units come complete with their own high security locks which are included in your rental cost.
How do I access the site out of office hours?

Can I change the size of my storage unit?

Yes! We understand that your storage needs can change so there is no penalty for changing sizes. You'll just need to start paying the new price for the unit you've moved to.
Are there any items that cannot be stored?

The only things you can’t put into self storage are items which are perishable, hazardous, flammable or illegal. If in doubt, please ask!
What do I need to do when I want to move out? Do I need to give notice? How much? How?

We require one week’s notice if you plan to end your self storage agreement. Notice should be given in writing either by email or by post.

What happens after I book?

details. You will also be able to access your reservation at any time from your Explorage.com dashboard,
which you can login to.
The storage operator will also receive a similar email (and a call for good measure), and will then
contact you directly to request any additional details they might need to complete your storage
agreement, this often includes verifying your ID, confirming payment details, and signing the storage
agreement. Once this is completed, you can move your things in :)
How soon can I move my things in?

Moving in to your storage unit is quick and easy, and the timing depends on the storage operator you choose.
To get started, simply click "Reserve" for the storage unit you want and choose a preferred "Move In" day from the available calendar. The calendar will indicate any days that are unavailable for moving in, such as Sundays or days that require prior notice.
Once you've made a reservation on Explorage.com, the storage operator will contact you via email to request any additional details needed to finalize your storage agreement. This may include verifying your ID and signing the agreement. Once the formalities are completed, you can usually move in right away.
Additionally, you can find information about the storage operator's office hours and the hours you can access your storage unit, which might be different.
If you have an urgent moving need or can't find suitable move-in dates on the calendar, feel free to reach out to us via call or message. We'll do our best to make arrangements with the storage operator on your behalf.
