Are your units weatherproof and clean?

Yes, our units are weatherproof. Each time a customer returns keys to us the stores are checked and cleaned before they are hired out to the next customer. We have a maintenance team who refurbish the containers and keep them in good condition.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

When you store with us we ask you to pay a small deposit of £25 for the key, more as reminder to return the key to us when you’ve finished with the store, (once the key is returned you will receive the deposit back).

When can I get access to our store?

We know that our customers have different needs for when they want to access their stores. So whether you need access early in the morning to take tools out of your store for work , or you need to be in last thing at night you will be able to get into your store at a time to suite you, so we've made sure access is available on our sites. (except Middlesbrough where access is restricted between 9:00pm and 7:00am) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Is there a minimum period for hiring the store?

Our minimum period is as little as a week. We do ask you to pay for a full month’s storage when you first hire the store but we’ll refund any part of the month you’ve paid for but not used (subject to the minimum period of a week) when you return the key to us.

What happens after I book?

Once you have reserved your storage on Explorage.com, you will receive an email from us confirming your details. You will also be able to access your reservation at any time from your Explorage.com dashboard, which you can login to.

The storage operator will also receive a similar email (and a call for good measure), and will then contact you directly to request any additional details they might need to complete your storage agreement, this often includes verifying your ID, confirming payment details, and signing the storage agreement. Once this is completed, you can move your things in :)

How soon can I move my things in?

Moving in to your storage unit is quick and easy, and the timing depends on the storage operator you choose.

To get started, simply click "Reserve" for the storage unit you want and choose a preferred "Move In" day from the available calendar. The calendar will indicate any days that are unavailable for moving in, such as Sundays or days that require prior notice.

Once you've made a reservation on Explorage.com, the storage operator will contact you via email to request any additional details needed to finalize your storage agreement. This may include verifying your ID and signing the agreement. Once the formalities are completed, you can usually move in right away.

Additionally, you can find information about the storage operator's office hours and the hours you can access your storage unit, which might be different.

If you have an urgent moving need or can't find suitable move-in dates on the calendar, feel free to reach out to us via call or message. We'll do our best to make arrangements with the storage operator on your behalf.
