Our storage business was established in 2012 after recognising a local shortage of affordable, secure storage. The business has since grown and provides storage solutions for a number of domestic and local trades. All storage containers are based at Newton Lodge in a secure location. We use brand new green shipping containers to safely store your goods; they are fitted with tamper proof padlock shield for extra security. Double door locking mechanism and very tight rubber seals to maintain all weather proof storage of your goods. All containers are placed at ground level to ensure that you can drive right up to the door for easy locking and loading. Each storage unit has a dimension of 20ft x 8ft x 8ft (160sqft) we also have some 10ft x 8ft x 8ft (80sqft) containers available. All come with a very substantial padlock and key. If stacked sensibly and carefully our 20ft units will hold the contents of an average 3-4 bedroom house. We have also had a number of people storing vehicles, motorbikes, quad bikes, minis and family cars. For over 10 years Lock & Load Self Storage has been providing secure, confidential storage to domestic and commercial customers near Olney, in close proximity to Bedford, Northampton & Milton Keynes. You can store as much or as little as you like, for as long as you like – with easy access every day of the year. Our site is close to both the A1 and M1, conveniently located on a main road and extremely secure. Facilities are open 12 hours a day, 365 days a year, and we have staff on site at all times. All areas are equipped with high security cameras and access only gained through number plate recognition. If you wish to pay in instalments of 6 or 12 months there is a significant saving to you for this. We don't take a deposit but we always bill in advance. You will pay your first calendar month payment on booking and then by direct debit going forward. Having paid your first month we will collect monthly in advance on the first working day of each calendar month. You are sent a full breakdown of this on your booking in email. Read Less

Yes, provided the vehicle is drained of fuel and your provide proof of insurance. The dimensions of our containers are 8ft x 20ft external. We do provide ramps for access.
Do you provide padlocks?

Will my Lock & Load Unit suffer from damp?

Our containers which are designed to sit on the open deck of ships. In fact most things we store would already have spent the first few months of their lives in one being transported into the country. The containers themselves are completely waterproof. What we do recommend is that customers try to avoid bringing moisture into the unit. There are small vents to prevent condensation and aid air flow through the unit however it will take some time to escape from the unit. With that in mind please ensure freezers are defrosted and washing machines and dishwashers are fully drained down.

What happens after I book?

Once you have reserved your storage on Explorage.com, you will receive an email from us confirming your
details. You will also be able to access your reservation at any time from your Explorage.com dashboard,
which you can login to.
The storage operator will also receive a similar email (and a call for good measure), and will then
contact you directly to request any additional details they might need to complete your storage
agreement, this often includes verifying your ID, confirming payment details, and signing the storage
agreement. Once this is completed, you can move your things in :)
How soon can I move my things in?

Moving in to your storage unit is quick and easy, and the timing depends on the storage operator you choose.
To get started, simply click "Reserve" for the storage unit you want and choose a preferred "Move In" day from the available calendar. The calendar will indicate any days that are unavailable for moving in, such as Sundays or days that require prior notice.
Once you've made a reservation on Explorage.com, the storage operator will contact you via email to request any additional details needed to finalize your storage agreement. This may include verifying your ID and signing the agreement. Once the formalities are completed, you can usually move in right away.
Additionally, you can find information about the storage operator's office hours and the hours you can access your storage unit, which might be different.
